White Possum Amaretto
There’s no mistaking this product for Amaretto; it certainly does what it says on the label, with big, juicy marzipan notes leaping out of the glass. Soft and clean, there’s very little to fault here, and if you like Amaretto, you will enjoy this. Don’t expect it to be quite as transparent and translucent as an imported brand because it takes big, expensive machines for that level of filtration. I’m happy to see a bit of cloudiness here because it tells me some natural ingredients were involved and that there might be some texture from sources other than sugar. The palate is sweet, nutty, chewy and not overly cloying, with good length and zero burn from poor-quality spirit. Reminiscent of almond biscotti. I’d be more than happy to use this anywhere Amaretto is called for.
