Coughlan Estate (formerly Barton Jones) has 3ha of semillon, chenin blanc, shiraz and cabernet sauvignon from '78 - the vines are some of the oldest in the region. The vineyard and cellar door are on gentle north-facing slopes, with extensive views over the Donnybrook area. -JAMES HALLIDAY
