Our Review
Marco Tovazzi and partner Portia Monahan founded mt. wines in 2017. Marco makes the wines at Hoddles Creek Estate, where he has worked since 2015 with winemaker Franco D'Anna. Marco grew up in northern Italy, 'mt.' paying homage to Monte Bondone, a massive mountain that towers over his home town. The winemaking approach is 'hands off', with no fining or filtration for the red wines and using only mature, neutral old French barrels in the ageing process, aiming to make wines that are true expression of the terroir on which the grapes are grown. -JAMES HALLIDAY
