Our Review
Under the stewardship of the Brown Family Wine Group, Tamar Ridge has firmly cemented a reputation as one of the Tamar Valley’s premier pinot noir producers. Winemaker Tom Wallace has advanced the upward trajectory not only in the winery but also at the magnificent estate-owned Kayena Vineyard (which is planted to no less than 130ha of nearly 2 dozen clones), where sustainable practices are a pillar of the operations. Today, the wines are released across 5 tiers: Estate (which also includes a foray into Riesling and Chardonnay), Research (a label established as a conduit for winemaker experimentation), Reserve, Single Block, and Grand Assemblage (a wine made only in the best vintages). The brand is as committed to education as it is to its portfolio, with the tasting room a launchpad for luxury tasting experiences, dialling down to site, terroir and clone.
