Our Review
The name ‘Wilfred’ is a nod to founder Walter William Wilfred Clappis, whose family are now making wines in his stead, the next generation at the helm. Fruit for the range is sourced from family growers in McLaren Vale, as well as Wilfred’s own certified organic/biodynamic vineyard in the Willunga foothills. The focus is on Italian varieties, namely montepulciano, nero d’Avola and sangiovese, and there’s also a shiraz in the portfolio. -HALLIDAY TEAM
