Ministry of Clouds

South Australia | McLaren Vale

Our Review

Established in '12, Bernice Ong and Julian Forwood set out to craft wines with a gastronomic lens. Learning to farm came next, so too a focus on honouring and nurturing the Vale's old-vine shiraz and grenache material. The wines have remained synonymous with quality since their inception. A suite of detail-led wines that are long on limb and vibrant with fruit, dappled with savoury tannins and saline freshness. The portfolio extends to wines made of Clare Valley fruit (riesling) and Adelaide Hills (chardonnay), with a 'vin de soif blanc'-style picpoul and a layered, perfumed expression of mencia, widely considered a benchmark for the variety in the region. -HALLIDAY TEAM
