Gomersal Wines

South Australia | Barossa Valley

Our Review

The 1887 establishment date has a degree of poetic licence. In 1887, Friedrich W Fromm planted the Wonganella vineyards, following that with a winery on the edge of the Gomersal Creek in 1891; it remained in operation for 90 years, finally closing in '83. In '00, a group of friends bought the winery and re-established the vineyard, planting 17ha of shiraz, 2.2ha of mourvèdre and 1ha of grenache. -JAMES HALLIDAY
