The Clare and Eden Valleys are synonymous with producing top Australian riesling wines, and this year’s awards show just that. The coveted Winery of the Year award has been crowned to Clare Valley producers Jim Barry Wines, and some of the highest-rated wines below are from the Eden Valley, Henty, Mount Barker, and Tasmania.
James Halliday on the 2020 Riesling Varietal Winners
“Jim Barry Wines was named Winery of the Year largely because of its first-class array of Clare Valley Rieslings. It’s ironic that this year, like last year, the four top-pointed wines have come from four regions other than Clare. That said, the Clare Valley shaded out Porongurup from first place for the number of wines in this group.”
