These nine wines have recently been reviewed by the Halliday Tasting Team. All rated between 93 and 97 points, they represent a snapshot of the top tier wines published in August.

There’s nothing more exciting than discovering new wines, but knowing where to look for them, and then, which bottle to choose, can be overwhelming. Below, you’ll find a list of nine newly released wines that we’ve curated for your drinking pleasure.

Try, for example, the 97-point chardonnay from TarraWarra Estate in the Yarra Valley or opt for the 96-point shiraz from our 2026 Winery of the Year, Brokenwood, which Toni Paterson MW describes as "an impressive wine of power, clarity and grace". Also 96 points, the Heirloom Vineyards Anevo Fortress Grenache Touriga Tempranillo is "penly expressive from the start, with grenache soaring from the glass in all its red-fruited and floral glory".

If you love wines from the Adelaide Hills, you can't go wrong with the "crystalline and pure to taste" 2024 Pinot Noir from Dear Zahra, or the Ekin Wine Co Pinot Noir 2023, with its "seamless flow, svelte nature and beautiful perfume", as Mike Bennie describes.

For those after great drops for $40 or under, here you'll find a 94-point red blend from Jarrod Kiven in the Pyrenees, a cabernet sauvignon from Barristers Block in Wrattonbully that will "age gracefully", and a "quietly thoughtful" white blend from L'Anima Wines in McLaren Vale.

Discover your new favourite producer, region, variety or style now by sampling these newly reviewed wines.
