It can be frustrating to learn about top-rating wines in the exact styles you love to drink, only to discover they're no longer available. That's why we asked the team at Dan Murphy's to share a list of the latest award-winning and high-scoring wines available in their stores.
The national retailer was the major partner in the recent Halliday Wine Companion Awards, so their wine merchants are right across the highlight wines and producers, such as Victoria's Dal Zotto Wines, which won Dark Horse of the Year.
Wine merchant Will Slocombe of Melbourne's Doncaster store particularly loves this family winery's Pucino prosecco, as listed below. "Dal Zotto have been the pioneers of prosecco in Australia, and the Pucino NV is everything we love about the style. It's fresh, clean, vibrant and full of energy – perfect for warm sunny afternoons."
Another of Will's standout wines from the 2020 Companion has been the Penfolds Reserve Bin A Chardonnay, also listed below. "Penfolds is known for its magnificent, powerful reds, but the Bin A is a very strong statement of this winery's ability to produce chardonnay with elegance, style and finesse to match," Will says.
